Number 5 - The Greek Islands With 2,770,000 visitors, the Greek islands are the brit's fifth favourite holiday destination. There are many islands, but the most popular are Corfu, Crete and Rhodes.

Number 4 - The Balearics The fourth most popular holiday destination on our list is the Balearics with 3,811,000 visitors a year. The Balearics include some of the UKs favourite places such as the dance capitol that is Ibiza, the beautiful waves of Minorca and the sandy Majorca.

Number 3 - The Canary Islands The third most popular brit tourist destination is the Canary Islands. At just over 4 million visitors a year, the seven islands are one of best places to visit. Lanzarote, Tenerife and Fuerteventura are the most popular of the Islands.

Number 2 - The Costas With nearly 6 million visitors a year, the costas in Spain are our second top tourist destination for the brits. There are four costas in total, but there are two which really stand out. The Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca are the two big daddies in foreign destinations for the brits. Benidorm is such a popular tourist area, that ITV have made a comedy program centered around it.

Number 1 - Devon and Cornwall Our number 1 family holiday destination for the brits is actually in Britain. Whether it's the credit crunch or just the familiar surroundings, an average of 6,300,000 visit Devon and Cornwall every year. Every year the rest of the country drives down the M5, puts up with the traffic jams and make their way down to the South West. Whether it's Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, ST Ives or Newquay the rest of Britain can't get enough.
