Frazier the Tree Guy
Walt Frazier, a Hall of Fame player for the New York Knicks basketball team, shed his peacock Clyde alter ego to become Frazier the tree guy, as locals call him on St. Croix. He's owned property on the island of St. Croix since 1979 and lived through some a few of the worst hurricanes in recent history... that makes anyone a native. His properties are an extension of his oversized personality and can actually be rented a vacation villas through Calabash Realtors.

15 Prettiest Island Rooms
My days are hectic at this time of year. It seems everyone is waiting longer and longer before taking the plunge and booking their warm weather getaway and I have to scramble to keep up and secure last minute space at often near capacity hotels. Some days it gets to be too much. I spin my chair around, away from the bright computer screen and glance out the window at the lake behind my house and I wonder why I ever changed course from med school to travel consultant? Que??? I never let these thoughts take up too much space in my brain before I close my eyes and envision a room just as this... A breezy, clutter free, escape bathed in white linen with little splashes of tropical color. Yes, one day all this selling of travel will pay off and I will have my own little private escape. In the meatime, thank goodness for sources such as Coastal Living and their lovely little collections of rooms just like this:
New Look at Tulemar Bungalows in Costa Rica
For years, Buena Vista Villas & Casas have been been the TOP choice for my Costa Rica bound clients. They love the private villa atmosphere, the option to keep cool drinks and snacks on hand in the granite kitchen, or BBQ some fresh catch on their verandah. They also enjoy the private beach at Tulemar. All beaches in Costa Rica are public, but because this one is landlocked by private land, it is private! Because Buena Vista Villas are super popular, we haven't always been able to get our clients in when they book at the last minute. The only other option on property are the Tulemar Bungalows - however, I never mentioned these to my clients because they weren't up to par. They reminded me of the places I stayed at when I was backpacking Central America 12 years ago! Fast forward to 2010 and Tulemar is getting an upgrade! Check out a few sneak peak photos below!
